The Silicon Valley 5K takes place on a flat, fast course providing a great opportunity for the whole family to compete!
This run/walk has been set for a Halloween theme on October 25, 2009, as the race will feature costume contests, prizes for all ages, and a tremendous post-race celebration.
After the 5k there will even be races for kids. If you can walk, you can race at the DKSVM festival of races.

As always, we've put some unique elements and entertainment out on the course. What’s more, the finish line is located at the post-race celebration area where a lineup of live entertainment, family activities, massages, food, and much more wait for you across the finish line.

Aid Stations and Medical Support
There are numerous aid stations on the course equipped with water and bathrooms. There will also be roving medical staff on the course and each aid station will be in radio contact with medical staff in case of emergency.

Timing, Pace and Results
The course will close based on a 15 minute-per-mile pace. Athletes behind this pace will be asked to obey all traffic laws.
The Dean Karnazes Silicon Valley Marathon will be chip-timed ensuring accurate and timely results. The marathon will have splits at 13.1 miles and at the finish. Your results will be available on-site near the finish line and online.
